Okay, I am sure I'm not the first person to do this. But I thought I'd still share with you how I made mine. It's so simple. Find a large embroidery hoop. I got a ton of them on etsy for like $6. Then find a doily that will work with the size hoop you bought. I found mine at The Habitat Store for $1. I chose a thicker doily cause I knew it would be holding some heavy earrings. Then fit the hoop over the doily and make sure the doily is pulled tight. I put mine off center cause, well, I'm a little off center:) Then I just cut off the extra doily.
Easy, right!?
I LOVE jewelry but never get to wear everything I own. It's just impossible to wear it all. I still have some pieces from elementary school so you can imagine how much jewelry I have:) So I've decided to start displaying some of it. I'm doing this for a few reasons...
1. It will remind me of pieces that I love but that get overlooked.
2. Jewelry is art to me and even if I don't wear a piece all the time doesn't mean I don't want to look at it.
3. I like having a place for everything. So now my favorite earrings all hang on the doily. Other earrings have their own place too.
4. This is the first house I've lived in where I can hang these on the walls so I'm loving having the ability to hang displays and look at my pretties. Maybe I could have a whole wall? Okay, maybe not.
I plan on coming up with more displays. I'm actually almost done with one of them! So excited to hang it up:) I also created a pinterest board to keep all my inspiration in one handy place. You can find it HERE! But here are a few of my favs...

ReplyDeleteI do not own a lot of jewelry so it's usually laying in some drawer. But I really love these ways of displaying it! :)
